Download PDF For Free: Estimating Tendering and Bidding for Construction Theory and Practice by Adrian J. Smith
This book is about the dual processes of estimating and tendering for construction work.
Unlike many other texts on an equivalent subject it’s not intended to be a compendium of estimators’ labour constants,
neither does it began to explain in minute detail the calculation of unit rates for each construction trade.
Although the mechanics of the estimating and tendering process are considered,
they’re considered only in sufficient detail for the overall principles to be understood within the context of the method as an entire .
Instead, this book attempts to explore estimating and tendering as a holistic process within the wider context of construction management and construction economics.
The objectives of this book are therefore twofold: firstly to supply a text covering rather wider aspects of estimating and tendering than has normally
been the case within the past, and secondly to review recent researchin the sunshine of its application to UK estimating and tendering practice.
during this respect I even have drawn upon research published in various parts of the planet , including the united kingdom , America, Australia and Hong Kong .
The book is primarily aimed toward those students who have already got a basic grounding within the mechanics of estimating.
It covers awide range of subjects and that i am cognizant that some areasaretreated more superficially than others. this is often partly deliberate and partly imposed by pressures of space,
but I even have attempted to offer extensive references wherever possible, within the hope that these might stimulate and assist the research of these wishing to pursue aspects of the topic to a greater depth.
I hope the book may additionally be of interest to practitioners within the field.
